Story Line:-
Ulajh (transl. Entangle), a 2024 Indian Hindi-language spy thriller film directed by Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Junglee Pictures, follows the journey of a young IFS officer from a well-known family of patriots who becomes entangled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while away from her home turf at a career-defining post. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, and Adil Hussain. The story revolves around a young IFS officer with a patriotic family legacy who becomes entangled in a dangerous personal conspiracy amidst a career-defining post far from her home.
At the London office, Suhana is welcomed by her team, Jacob Tamang (Meiyang Chang) and Sebin Kutty (Roshan Mathew), who see her appointment as a result of nepotism. On the other hand, his driver, Salim (Rajesh Tailang), seems firmly on his side, offering advice and help whenever needed. At a party at the Indian High Commission, Suhana crosses paths with Nakul (Gulshan Devaiah), a Michelin-starred chef who switches between languages and accents as easily as he does. And a whirlwind romance ensues. But soon, Suhana’s dream life begins to collapse like a house of cards when Nakul resorts to blackmail with a hidden camera video in exchange for Indian intelligence and trade secrets. As the plot gets messy, and as Suhana gives in, wanting to save face and not disrupt her father’s new date, she finds herself sinking deeper and deeper into a mess that seems impossible to escape from.
Critics:-
While the bulk of the plot rests on Suhana’s shoulders, the film has a plethora of characters who appear and disappear throughout the story with twists, betrayals and unlikely friendships. The plot (Parveez Shaikh, Sudhanshu Saria) is engaging enough to keep the viewer invested till the end, with some legitimate shocks and thrills. However, the weakest point in the story is Suhana’s lack of judgement and caution in falling in love with Nakul and dealing with the situation before it gets too dark. The pace slows down at times and there are a few loose ends. As a spy thriller, Ulajhand is engaging at times and a bit perverse at others.
Don’t pass on this film. 😆😆
